Sreedevi Yadlapati
Guru Smt Sreedevi Yadlapati is a Kuchipudi dancer, teacher, director and choreographer of international repute. She began learning Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam at the age of five. She is a disciple of renowned artists: Bhagavathula Venkata Rama Sarma (where she finished her rangapravasam at the age of 11), A.B.Bala Kondala rao, and Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam to achieve proficiency. In recognition of her artistic and pioneering work in the fields of direction and choreography, Sreedevi won several awards from the government of various States of India. She performed in well reputed organizations and toured several places to perform at dance festivals. Guru Sreedevi won accolades for her excellence in choreographing dance. Her first choreography was when she was only 10 years old . Guru Sreedevi had the honor of performing in front of Satya Sai Baba and Chinmaya Nada Swamiji. Guru Sreedevi Yadlapati has her diploma in Bharatnatyam, bachelors in Literature and Nursing, Masters in Kuchipudi.
Sai Nritya Academy was established in year 2000 in Houston and was relocated to Dallas in 2011. Since then Sai Nritya Academy has been performing in several organizations like TANA, TANTEX, DATA, TPAD, Silicon Andhra, NATS, NADS and went on to win many awards and competitions. Sai Nritya Academy has also performed many ballets choreographed by guru Sreedevi. The guru, Sreedevi, has demonstrated unwavering commitment towards advancing the Kuchipudi dance form through the younger generation. Her goal is to spread this dance culture to everyone and allow them to develop a love for the form just like she did at age 5. Right now she is teaching the techniques of kuchipudi while also helping young children get fine arts credits in school and certifications and diplomas in this beautiful form.
